ELLEN'S ENTRYI hope you are all enjoying "The lazy hazy days of summer." It has been really hot outside, but, thankfully, Palm Harbor Newcomers Club has a lot of "cool" activities to keep you busy.
I know all who attended the June lunch enjoyed the "Orchid Man". His information about the lovely plants and how to grow and maintain them was very interesting, even to a black thumb like me. Way to go, Joan McCarthy! You are off to a blazing start. And, as I write this, I can hardly wait to enjoy July‘s program. It also sounds like a blast. I am sure that “Magic Extraordinaire" will be a magical afternoon.
I know your summer is busy, but please don't forget the club’s important "Membership Mania" membership recruitment campaign. Bring a friend or neighbor as a luncheon guest and be entered into a drawing for a free membership for 2011. And, if the guest would like to join, she only pays $15 for the remainder of 2010. A win-win for everyone!
The 2010 Annual Holiday Gala committee is gearing up to produce another wonderful event, and this year’s festivities already promise to be spectacular. So, be sure to mark your calendars for December 3. Each year, the PHNC Holiday Gala is a very special way to start off the holiday season.
Thank you all who participated in the club’s Back Pack Project. As usual, you outdid yourselves, and I am sure the students receiving the school supplies will appreciate them. Thanks again for being so generous.
