PALM HARBOR NEWCOMERS CLUB
Hi! I'm Barbara Huth and I'm the new treasurer for the Palm Harbor Newcomers Club.
I was born in New York on Long Island. I was raised there by German parents, in a wonderful loving home. I attended Queens College and Fordham University.
I moved to Puerto Rico in 1970 with my husband and lived there for over 30 years. That marriage didn't go well but I remarried and had a beautiful baby boy, Antonio.
I worked for J.C. Penney Co. in various management positions and in several locales. I was transferred to Texas in 2001 and retired in 2011. I moved to Florida in 2013 and I love it here.
My passions are volunteering, traveling and crafts among others.
I am glad to be able to serve PHNC as treasurer and hope to meet all our members.
2ND VICE PRESIDENT
My Early Years: I was born at Exit 14B on the New Jersey Turnpike, or for non-Jerseyites....Bayonne. I am the elder of two children.
My mother emigrated from the island of Malta in 1951. She and my dad were crowned Valentine Sweethearts, they married that July. My father came from a family of 14 children, my mother a family of 7. With 62 first cousins, we never were in want for company.
College/Career: After graduating from Bayonne High School (the Bayonne Bees), I graduated from Jersey City State College with a concentration in Elementary Education and a minor in Sociology. I was a teacher for over 30 years in both public and private settings. I finished out my career as the Director of a daycare in Jackson, NJ. I loved every minute!
My Family: I was married to my husband, John, for 24 years. We had 2 wonderful daughters, Jaimie and Alyssa. After his unexpected passing in 1995, we movedto Ft. Myers, FL. Jaimie, Ben and Zack live here in Clearwater. Alyssa, Charlie and CS3 live in Arlington, VA. I am extremely proud of what they have all accomplished.
Activities: I enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, board and card games, but most of all, being around family and friends.
